1930s DELINA Dressing Table Vanity Set - Ormolu Gilt Brass Filigree Hi Ebayers! I’m pleased to offer this wonderful old dressing table set. The 5 pieces include a tray, a hairbrush, a clothes brush and a pair of candlesticks. These were made by DELINA, England who were one of the best known and highly collected makers of these sets, which were popular in the 1930s. The items feature an oriental hand-painted scene with lots of gold highlights. The metal surrounds have an ormolu gilt brass design with filigree on the handles of the tray and on the candleholders. The tray and candlestick holders have glass covering the picture while the brushes have a celluloid covering. The back of the tray is also glass (with no crack) over a gilded surface. The tray stands of 4 little rococo style feet. The hairbrush has a removable head. The bristles on the brushes are set in wood. The clothes brush is stamped DELINA NYLON MADE IN ENGLAND and the hairbrush is stamped NYLON MADE IN ENGLAND. They are in fair to good, original uncleaned condition – pretty good for a 70 to 80 year old set. 3 glass surfaces have a crack in them. In places the paint has transferred to the glass and created a blurred image. The tray measures 36 cm or 14 inches long and the candlesticks stand 11 cm or 4 ½ inches. They have a combined weight of 1.4 kg unpacked. We are moving house and need to downsize. Pick-up is available at Maryborough QLD or at Noosa where our new home will be. I DO combine items for some big savings on postage on the additional items. I basically charge Australia Post costs plus $1.00 per item. Therefore, it may only cost an extra $1.00 to post small additional items.
