Hello there & thanks for stopping by! ***At the end of this listing is what's left from when I closed my "real time" store that I will be listing on Ebay. This auction is for: A Vintage Style Brass Feng Shui Incense Burner Dimensions: approximately 7 inches wide, tip to tip, and 5 inches in height *** Aside from being a very cool incense burner, this would be a great item to put in your prosperity area (ie: gua) to bring you wealth, luck, and prosperity!!! *** Use with the herbs/resins: sarsaparilla, sassafras, cinquefoil, cinnamon root and dragon’s blood for an awesome money drawing incense! On a personal note: I simply love the look of this burner--it is not only very versatile and filled with positive symbols that put out positive energy, but it also looks like an antique, even though it's not. I have several of these in different rooms of my home :) Description of the Burner: It has symbols of peace, prosperity, luck, and wealth inscribed on the sides. The lid has a Foo Dog on top of it. In Feng Shui, the Foo Dog is a symbol for repelling “evil chi”, aka: “negative energy“ and Foo Dogs are considered protective! The handles of the burner are in the form of Tigers. In Feng Shui, Tigers “keep down troubles” and are protective…meaning: they also repel negative energy and cause troubles to go away! The yin-yang bagua is imprinted inside on the bottom of the burner (see pic). A yin yang symbol means balance and the bagua (the 8 sided symbol) is considered protective. So a yin-yang bagua brings balance and protection. The burner itself is lightweight, but very sturdy. The lid can be turned over to use as a grate and put charcoal on it--to use for an incense burner or, you can put the charcoal inside the burner on top of the symbol and put the lid back on the burner. Also, for easy cleaning, the bottom of the burner comes off. This is actually one of my favorite finds and one of my favorite pieces that I had in my store! This item was also a fast seller and I was always running out of them (which is why I kept a large supply on hand and still had several when I closed up shop). In Feng Shui, an Incense burner is used for: The smoke from the incense “penetrates” the unseen energy of your home, a room, your aura, etc. Depending upon the type of herbs/resins used for the incense, it can be used to repel negativity (ie: cleanse/purify), bring wealth, luck, happiness, peace, healing, etc. The incense is also used during prayer and meditation. The symbols on the burner add to your protection while you are not in a fully conscious state (meditation/prayer causes a “weakening” in the spiritual lining of us because we are not fully “grounded” in the physical and therefore not fully aware. So saying: it is easier for negative spirits/entities to penetrate your energy during that time if one does not take measures to protect oneself). The Use of Incense in Rituals: The use of incense, particularly herbs, powders & resins, has been used since the dawn of civilization (there are records in India of incense/perfumers in 2000 b.c.). The use of incense for rites, rituals, and offerings goes back to Biblical times. If you use any stick or cone incense, at the base of it's scent is an herb or a resin taken from the Earth. All herbs and resins have different uses (meanings). When you understand the different uses, you can incorporate the herb/resin into whatever ritual you are performing. Adding the proper incense or mixture of herbs/resins to a ritual strengthens the power of that ritual (and strengthens the success of your ritual!). For me, the use of incense in a ritual, an offering or an affirmation is an essential part of whatever I am doing. Anytime I use incense, at least two of God's Elements are coming into play...which adds power to any request or ritual. The Elements, when used properly, bring a power to your request, intention or ritual all of their own--outside of the energy you yourself bring. If you take a candle, oils, herbs, and then add your own focus and the energy of your desires, you have a lot of energy going out to The Universe!!!
